Encouraging Adult Survivors of Child Abuse
This is a safe space to share information, survivor stories, and memoirs from both published and emerging writers. I share parts of my current and past battle with PTSD and the child abuse which altered my mind and body. I encourage survivors to send me their stories to share with the blogosphere. The louder we speak the bigger the change in a culture of old-school discipline and anger and neurosis hurled toward innocent children. Through my blog, I hope survivors will see there is hope and memoir readers will become educated on the devastating effects of child abuse on mental illness.
Thank you for the comment Bdl Heart, I really appreciate the feedback 🙂 The photo above reminds me of something 😉 I like it! I felt so sad reading your “duck” story, I know how that feels. I have been told that what I experienced as a kid was abuse too, to me it was normal, it’s weird, but it totally makes sense, when I consider my mental states and especially that crazy story I am writing about. Somehow it’s connected. I am still trying to make sense of everything. Thank you for speaking up! Gia xx
Unfortunately, I think a lot of abuse survivors thought it was normal. After all we were children and knew no other way to live. I continue to remember things now and realize just how abnormal and abusive they were. Even as early as 5 years ago I thought it wasn’t that abnormal or abusive. You are right. The abuse manifests in our lives mentally as we develop. Continue telling your story and more will become clear. Writing is so therapeutic. Look forward to reading more.

Absolutely, writing is very therapeutic, and if we can help others with sharing our experience, that’s even better because it makes me feel, as if everything that’s happened however bad can have a positive outcome in the end. I can take that experience and use it for good. Thank you for your encouragement!xx
Exactly. I feel so much more connected and understood when I can connect with others through writing. Great positive thinking my friend. Hugs
Ditto! (((Hugs))). xxx
